Our History
In 1956 Clint Collins founded Collins, Inc. by offering lawn and garden equipment to Smithfield;
mainly dealing in chainsaws for the pulp wood industry. As the years passed and business grew he saw
an opportunity to provide yet another product to his community. In 1973 he began carrying OMC products
like Johnson and Evinrude outboard engines. He saw success with his new venture and started a legacy
that will serve his community for years to come.
In 1986 his son, Les Collins, took control of the company. With his slogan "We'll Deal," Les began
to grow the company into a successful boat dealership to where it is now, the largest boat dealer in
eastern North Carolina.
Our Mission
At Collins we strive to accomodate a wide variety of anglers. Saltwater to Fresh and everything
in between. By stocking a full inventory, we are able to provide a large selection as well as pass
our savings on to our customers. Along with our vast number of boats, we are a fully self contained
company. We provide parts and service, even boat title registreation capabilities. Our six bay
service garage and a seven person service team enables us to take care of our customers in a timely
and professional manner.
Our main goal at Collins Inc. is for our Sales, Service, Parts, And Management departments to work
as a team to provide overall customer satisfaction. Giving our customers fair pricing and upholding
down-home values in our customer relationships is our mission.
